The second day of the World Surf League (WSL) Surfboard Empire Pro Junior presented by Florence delivered standout performances in both the women’s and men’s divisions at Warriewood.
With better conditions than on the opening day, junior surfers quickly adapted to the powerful breaks and raised the level of competition in every elimination round.
In the women’s event, Natalie Fensom was the standout performer of the day. The Australian surfer impressed with her confidence and control on every wave, earning her the “Surfer of the Day by The Mona” recognition from the commentary team. Fensom also posted one of the highest scores of the day, a 7.33 out of 10, matching the performance of her compatriot Ruby Trew.
In the same stage, fellow Australian Ocea Curtis delivered a strong performance in the quarterfinals, posting the highest heat total of the round with 11.33 out of 20. With these results, both Curtis and Fensom advanced to the semifinals, establishing themselves as two of the leading contenders for the title.
In the men’s division, the quarterfinals were highlighted by reigning WSL World Junior Champion Dane Henry and current ISA U-16 World Junior Champion Ocean Lancaster, who reaffirmed their status as favorites with solid performances that keep them in contention.

Meanwhile, one of the closest matchups of the day featured Australians Macklin Flynn and Sammy Lowe, who both advanced to the semifinals with a razor-thin margin of just 0.01 points between their total scores, reflecting the intensity and high level of the competition.
With the semifinals now set, the event enters its final stage, promising more excitement in the battle for the title at one of the most important junior competitions on the circuit.
