The 2025–2026 European-African QS Comes to an End: These Were the Results

The Pro Taghazout Bay QS 4000 brought the European-African circuit of the World Surf League to a close, with Spaniards Adur Amatriain and Janire González-Etxabarri emerging as the main protagonists after claiming victory and consolidating their dominance in the region.


In the men's final, Amatriain defeated Canary Island surfer Conor Donegan Dos Santos with a score of 13.40 to 12.10, following a highly contested heat decided in the final minutes. Meanwhile, in the women's division, González-Etxabarri overcame Britain's Alys Barton with 14.83 against 11.33, sealing her win.

The competition, held on the coast of Morocco, not only crowned the event champions but also defined key positions in the regional rankings. In this context, both surfers from the Basque Country secured the European title and confirmed their spots in the Challenger Series.

These official results also determined the qualifiers following the end of the season, with six surfers in the men's category and three in the women's. In the men's division, the spots went to Guilherme Ribeiro (POR), Ido Hagag (ISR), Yago Domínguez (ESP), Sean Gunning (ESP), Conor Donegan Dos Santos (ESP), and Tiago Carrique (FRA).


Meanwhile, in the women's division, the qualifiers were María Salgado (POR), Alys Barton (GBR), and Ariane Ochoa (ESP), who secured their places for the next Challenger Series season.

With this, the 2025–2026 European-African QS closes a season marked by a high level of competition and strong European surfing performances.
