In a discipline historically dominated by Hawaiian and Australian riders, César Bauer managed to break into the world elite and write one of the most important chapters in South American bodyboarding history.
It was 2010, and the Peruvian rider had already achieved strong results throughout the IBA World Tour, showing consistency and solid performances across the circuit. The final event of the season was held at El Confital, in the Canary Islands, where César arrived fighting directly for the Dropknee (DK) world title in a tense and highly anticipated showdown.

Bauer needed to keep advancing through the rounds while closely following the performance of his main rival, Hawaiian rider Dave Hubbard, one of the strongest names on the tour for many years. Heat after heat, the Peruvian delivered a solid performance and secured his place in the grand final.
After Hubbard’s elimination in the semifinals, César mathematically secured the professional Dropknee world title, achieving an unprecedented milestone for Peru and Latin America in international bodyboarding, proving that South American riders could also compete at the highest level.

The impact of Bauer’s world title was immediate. His victory helped shine a spotlight on Peruvian bodyboarding and opened the door for new generations of South American riders who began to see the world tour as a realistic goal.
To this day, César Bauer is still considered the greatest Peruvian Dropknee reference and one of the few Latin American riders to ever win a professional world title in this category.

Years after conquering the world, César has remained connected to bodyboarding competitions in Peru and continues to stay active through social media as one of the international references of DK, with his name still representing experience, perseverance and passion for the ocean.
