Chile Returns to the World Bodyboarding Map: Antofagasta Will Host ABF 2026

The international bodyboarding circuit is once again turning its attention to Chile. The Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival (ABF) has confirmed its return to the calendar of the IBC World Tour with its 14th edition, set to take place from April 29 to May 10, 2026, in the city of Antofagasta.

Organized by the local club Club Budeo, the event has become one of the most important stops on the tour, bringing together some of the best riders in the world each year.

One of the biggest highlights of this edition is the return of Nilda Point as the main competition venue. The wave known as “La Nilda” is back as the official contest location, marking the start of the South American leg of the tour.

For nearly two weeks, Antofagasta will host the world’s best riders in the Men and Dropknee (DK) divisions, all looking to secure valuable points in the second stop of the season.

The event will also play an important role in shaping the season’s rankings. While the Dropknee World Title race will begin to unfold, the Men’s division will start heating up with the first major battles for the top positions.

Beyond the competition itself, the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival has grown into an event that goes far beyond sport. Over the years it has incorporated cultural, social, and environmental activities, strengthening its impact within the local community.

Registrations are now open, and once again Antofagasta is expected to become one of the key stages of the professional bodyboarding season.
