From May 22 to 31, Brazil once again brings together the elite of international bodyboarding in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, as part of the third stop of the IBC World Tour Bodyboarding Circuit.

Itacoatiara is famous for its power, speed, and heavy shorebreak, characteristics that have historically turned this tour stop into a true challenge for competitors, while also being recognized as one of the most important events on the international calendar.

This edition will have a major spotlight on South African rider Tristan Roberts, current world ranking leader after winning the first two stops of the season. If he manages to win again, Roberts could take a significant step toward another world title.

Regarding the wildcards, the organization confirmed two riders recognized for their experience in heavy waves: French rider Louka Zaninotto, the 2025 Junior World Champion, and Brazilian Kalani Lattanzi, who returns to the event after four years.

Ocean conditions are expected to play a key role during the opening days of the event, with forecasts calling for a south swell, rain, and very active seas throughout the first days of competition. However, organizers will continue monitoring the conditions to determine official calls and the daily schedule of the Itacoatiara Pro 2026.

In addition, the event will feature several activities connected to surf and bodyboard culture, once again turning Brazil into one of the action sports capitals of South America, where the world bodyboarding scene will be focused for ten days.
