Chile Has Its Team: Meet the National Squad Set to Compete at the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship

The Chilean Surfing Federation has officially announced the national team that will represent the country at the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship (WJSC), taking place from September 4–13 at La Bocana and El Sunzal in Surf City, El Salvador. The event will mark the third time the International Surfing Association's World Junior Championship has been held in Surf City, following successful editions in 2022 and 2024.

The team was selected following the National Training Camp held in Arica, where the country's top junior surfers showcased their skill, commitment, and potential to represent Chile at one of the most important events on the international junior surfing calendar. The Chilean Surfing Federation congratulated each selected athlete, highlighting that the final roster reflects their talent, dedication, competitive results, and performances throughout the national training camp.

The team also features a strong presence of athletes connected to V.ROZZ Films. Matilda and Isidora Bulto, members of Queen of the Wave, secured places on the national team, while King of the Wave ambassador Pascual Llorens also earned his spot to represent Chile in El Salvador. They are joined by Lucas Magna, another member of the project, who was named as an alternate in the Under-18 Boys division, reflecting the potential of the athletes developed through the initiative.

In the Under-16 Boys division, Chile will be represented by Noah Phillips, Romano Menichetti, and Inti Navarro. The Under-16 Girls team includes Matilda Bulto, Ananía Peña, and Alonsa Estobar. In the Under-18 Boys division, Reimundo Berry, Pascual Llorens, and Tomás García de la Huerta were selected, while Isidora Bulto, Chiara Bagoni, and Trinidad Gómez will compete in the Under-18 Girls division.

The Federation also released a technical statement regarding Matilda Bulto, who qualified on merit for both the Under-16 and Under-18 divisions. However, because the competition will run simultaneously at La Bocana and El Sunzal, it was decided that she will compete exclusively in the Under-16 division to avoid potential scheduling conflicts between heats and allow her to focus entirely on her age category.

The list of alternates includes Beltrán Majluf, Andrés Majluf, Joaquín Farías, Mateo Cisterna, and Clemente Rodríguez in the Under-16 Boys division; María José Rivera, Antonella Monroy, Emma Neumann, Amanda Lagos, and Sara Lankin in the Under-16 Girls division; Kai Corke, Lucas Magna, Noah Phillips, and Simón García de la Huerta in the Under-18 Boys division; and María Weiss, Gracia López, Sara Lankin, and Emma Neumann in the Under-18 Girls division.

With the team now confirmed, Chile will begin its final preparations for Surf City, where it will take on the world's top junior surfing talents while continuing to build on the country's recent growth on the international stage.
