Paloma and a Podium Finish That Reaffirms Her Legacy in Bodyboarding

At the Women’s Professional Surf Carnival “Arica Latin Girl 2026,” Paloma Freyggang once again proved why she is considered one of the leading figures in Chilean bodyboarding. At the wave known as “La Isla” (formerly Isla Alacrán), she claimed third place in the bodyboard category, adding another podium finish to a career that is already part of the country’s sporting history.

What made her participation even more special was that she competed while six months pregnant. With more than 35 years of experience, Paloma knows the ocean like few others and moves through it with a natural ease that feels almost instinctive. Her decision to compete speaks of confidence, awareness, and a deeply personal way of living bodyboarding, quietly challenging the idea that motherhood is a limitation.

Even so, she looked solid, confident, and technically impeccable. Her experience showed in every decision in the water, from reading the waves to executing her maneuvers with precision, including a 360° turn that drew applause from the shore.

A two-time national champion with an extensive national and international career, Paloma is one of those athletes who no longer needs to prove anything, yet continues to compete out of pure love for the sport — making it truly a spectacle to watch her in the water and raising the level of every event she enters.

Paloma’s podium finish is not just another result. It is a confirmation of her legacy and of a passion for bodyboarding that transcends stages, processes, and moments in life. As one of our Queen of the Wave, we are proud to stand by Paloma in every achievement she accomplishes in the water.
