From July 3 to 9, the powerful sand-bottom wave will host the fourth stop of the IBC World Tour, the Pascuales Bodyboard Pro 2026, an event that aims to establish Mexico as one of the world's premier bodyboarding destinations.
Located in the state of Colima, this powerful beach break breaks over a completely sandy bottom. Its massive sets, fast-breaking waves, and the power of each section attract surfers and bodyboarders year-round, with many comparing it to the legendary world-class wave at Playa Zicatela in Puerto Escondido.
The constantly shifting sandbanks reshape the break, ensuring that no two sessions are ever the same. Some days deliver perfect barreling waves, while others produce multiple peaks breaking with tremendous force, requiring athletes to read the ocean carefully and choose the right wave with precision.

For decades, this location remained a well-kept secret among locals and travelers exploring Mexico's coastline in search of new surf spots. That reality is beginning to change with the arrival of the Pascuales Bodyboard Pro 2026, organized by Club Perla Negra, SPEU, and Gene Paul Blaney, who have been working since 2021 to make Boca de Pascuales an official stop on the International Bodyboarding Corporation (IBC) tour.

The competition marks a milestone for Mexican bodyboarding, as it will be the first time Boca de Pascuales hosts an official event on the world tour. In the Open Men division, competitors will battle for US$25,000 in prize money and 2,500 ranking points, while the Junior Men division will award US$5,000 and 500 ranking points.
The organizers expect athletes from at least 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Oceania, bringing together the world's top bodyboarders alongside the sport's rising stars while giving Mexican athletes the opportunity to compete at home against the international elite.

Beyond the competition, the Pascuales Bodyboard Pro will feature cultural activities, community events, and opportunities for interaction among athletes, reinforcing the goal of promoting Boca de Pascuales as both a world-class sporting venue and an international tourism destination.
The organization hopes this inaugural edition will mark a turning point for the sport in Mexico. If the ocean delivers its full potential, Boca de Pascuales could evolve from one of the Mexican Pacific's best-kept secrets into one of the most iconic venues in world bodyboarding.
