Our Queen Of The Wave, Rachel Agüero, claimed victory in the Women’s Open division at the second stop of Costa Rica’s 2026 Banco LAFISE National Surf Circuit, held in Santa Teresa de Cóbano.

The event, known as the Copa Denga Santa Teresa Pro and presented by Corona Cero and Suzuki, brought together more than 180 surfers at Playa Carmen, establishing itself as one of the most important stops on the Costa Rican national calendar.

Agüero, who had finished second in the first event of the season, secured the win after a tight final, finding the key wave in the final minutes to post a 9.26 and take first place.

In the decisive heat, she overcame surfers such as Lía Díaz and Mikela Castro in a high-level battle that remained open until the very end.

With this result, she not only claims her first win of the season, but also rises to the top of the national rankings, positioning herself as one of the leading figures of the 2026 circuit in Costa Rica.
