La Marginal Surfing Pro 2026: Arecibo returns to the international surfing map

Arecibo will once again become one of the meeting points for international surfing with the 2026 edition of La Marginal Surfing Pro, an event set to take place from October 9 to 18 at Playa La Marginal, bringing together prominent surfers from different parts of the world.

The event is presented by the Autonomous Municipality of Arecibo and Mayor Hon. Carlos R. Ramírez Irizarry, with a program designed to once again place Playa La Marginal at the center of the international surfing scene.


ALAS Global Tour - La Marginal Surfing Pro 2026

The event will also offer an experience combining surfing, music and gastronomy, bringing sports activities to the entire Arecibo community throughout the competition, which will feature two high-level events.

The first stop will be the sixth round of the ALAS Global Tour, taking place from October 9 to 12, with a $30,000 prize purse. The event has already surpassed 100 registered competitors, with representatives from 17 countries.


Super Girl Surf Festival

Then, from October 14 to 18, it will be time for the WSL QS 4,000, which will award $66,000 in prize money and once again raise the competitive level on the waves of Arecibo. The competition will provide surfers from different countries with another opportunity to earn points toward the World Surf League's qualification circuit.


Corrida Canina 3K - La Marginal Surfing Pro 2026

In addition, on October 17, the event will also host a recreational activity designed for the whole family and their pets: the 3K Canino, an initiative inviting people to participate alongside their dogs and enjoy a day outdoors.


Rema Festival QS 6000

With high-level surfing, music, gastronomy and activities for the community, La Marginal Surfing Pro 2026 is preparing an edition that will place Arecibo under the spotlight of the international surfing scene, as competitors from different countries travel to Puerto Rico to take part in one of the major sporting events of October.
